Small Truths: a micro-essay competition
In 2020, we are pleased to announce Small Truths, a new award that invites incisive, succinct micro-essays on an aspect of Australian life, of no more than 300 characters (including spaces) in total.
Submit your micro-essay via the form below.
The Small Truths award will be given to a micro-essay of exceptional quality, and which:
- is no longer than 300 characters (with spaces)
- was written between October 9 and November 9, 2020
- addresses the theme ‘Australian life’ in a pithy observation of who we are and how we live
- embodies keen insight and depth of knowledge, rather than sentiment.
Aesop and The Saturday Paper will shortlist five micro-essays, from which they will select the first-place entry. The winner will be awarded $1000 AUD.
